Aschaffenburg-born Jennifer Washington has her roots in the USA where her father, a musician as well, came from. It comes as no surprise that the 26 year old came in contact with the music of the Temptations, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin or James Brown at a very young age. In 2003 Jennifer fronted the band “Skyjuice” in Aschenburg that quickly became the regional reggae ambassadors. Before their split in 2008 she had the opportunity to support Desmond Dekker in Austria, play a couple of gigs in Calvados (France) and perform 3 years in a row at the Africa-Caribbean festival in Aschaffenburg.
After the band has decided to go separate ways Jennifer went through an orientation phase where she worked with different artists like Yah Meek, Anthony Locks, Ganjaman, Martin Zobel or Marlene Johnson. On Dances her voice can be heard on “Youth Riddim” (Urban Tree) or “Everlasting Riddim” (Pow Pow).
